CRM News - The IBM-SAP collaboration…

IBM’s upcoming DB2 database - codenamed Viper will be optimised for SAP software. This takes their collaboration a step ahead from the integration of its front-end collaboration products with SAP AG’s back-end enterprise applications that is being done in Project Harmony.

In fact, since the formation of Collaboration Technology Support Centers (CTSC) way back in 2003, IBM and SAP have formed a formidable alliance. As a result, they have successfully gained a significant market share by working together on many large IT projects.

According to Bruce Harreld, IBM’s Senior Vice President of Strategy,"We look forward to build on our longstanding relationship with SAP to deliver not just technology expertise, but real business value to our customers."

CRM News - SAP planning big for Sapphire Conference

This time around the annual Sapphire User Conference is to be held in conjunction with the America’s SAP User’s Group (ASUG) from May16-18 in Orlando, Fla. SAP is planning to go all out to take full mileage from the event.

It is not only going to highlight the increased Netweaver adoption by its customers but also bring out the features of its Enterprise Services Architecture strategy. This is more or less going on as per schedule and is bound to keep SAP ahead of its competitors.

The event will also see the announcement of new additional features in SAP CRM on-demand package. The best practices for SAP upgrades and supply chain management are other attractions.

According to Rod Masey, ASUG executive vice-president,"SAP is looking for perspective from customers, and as it looks more at the mid-market, their engagement model is different. And they are trying to address the needs of the market segments that they support."
